Ads are everywhere these days because it's the easiest way to monetize content. A good parallel of the situation above is ads in mobile phone applications. Granted, developers are the ones deciding to make an application ad supported but one should consider that artists had that choice at one point also but gave it up when they signed their record contract giving marketing control of themselves and their music to the label.
As an abstract thought, I'm not surprised nor am I really offended by ads before, after or during free music content. The bigger deal with what you post is that it's out of the artist's control whether or not there's some unrelated ad with their music because they've long since given up control of that aspect of their career.
